Schedule for the banknote and coin changeover

The older 100-krona and 500-krona banknotes and the older 1, 2 and 5-krona coins became invalid after 30 June 2017.

It is still possible to deposit them in your bank account during a period of time.

Banks can accept the coins up to and including 31 August 2017

The coins can be deposited in a bank account up to and including 31 August 2017. Please contact your bank in advance to find out the easiest way to do this. You can use myntkartan.se to find the nearest place to deposit your coins. Myntkartan.se lists around 900 banks and bureaux de change that accept coins. After 31 August 2017, neither banks nor the Riksbank will redeem them.

Banks can accept the banknotes up to and including 30 June 2018

The banknotes can be deposited in a bank account up to and including 30 June 2018. Please contact your bank in advance to find out the easiest way to do this. If you still have invalid banknotes after 30 June 2018, you can send them by post to the Riksbank, which will put them into your bank account for a fee of SEK 100. Timetable for the banknote and coin changeover

 

New 20, 50, 200 and 1,000-krona banknotes were introduced on 1 October 2015.


New 100 and 500-krona banknotes and 1, 2 and 5-krona coins were introduced on 3 October 2016.


The older 20, 50 and 1,000-krona banknotes became invalid after 30 June 2016.


The older 100 and 500-krona banknotes and 1, 2 and 5-krona coins became invalid after 30 June 2017. Please note that this refers to the older, silver-coloured 2-krona coins.
