The Department for IT and digitalisation (AID) has a central role in the Riksbank's operations. The department drives the Riksbank’s digital development and at the same time delivers high-quality management. These are central components for the Riksbank’s vision to be an innovative central bank with a high level of preparedness.

AID has almost 60 employees working from the Riksbank’s head office at Brunkebergs torg in Stockholm. AID is in an exciting phase of development, where digitalisation, innovative solutions and security and preparedness issues are in focus.

Very large values are handled daily in the IT systems and IT therefore forms the hub of Sweden’s payment system. If the Riksbank's system does not function optimally, it affects everyone in Sweden.

The it environment is extensive and varied and the department cooperates with several suppliers and partners, both nationally and internationally. IT operations are outsourced, which enables a great focus on analysis, innovation and working together with the operations to continuously develop and manage the Riksbank’s IT solutions.
