Conditions for the use and re-publication of SWESTR

The Riksbank provides Swestr as well as compounded average rates and an index based on SWESTR. The use and re-publishing of these are subject to the conditions below.

Conditions for re-publication and use of the reference interest rate SWESTR, as well as average rates and index based on SWESTR

The Riksbank is the administrator of Swedish krona Short Term Rate (SWESTR) and supplies SWESTR. The Riksbank also provides compounded average rates and an index based on SWESTR.

SWESTR (including average rates and index) is provided free of charge without any licensing expenses being demanded for use or re-publication. When using and re-publishing SWESTR (including average rates and index), the following applies.

These conditions may be changed by the Riksbank from time to time, with the latest version being available in Swedish and English at the Riksbank’s website.

Use of SWESTR and average rates and index based on SWESTR

When using SWESTR:

  • The Riksbank is not responsible for errors or shortcomings in SWESTR (including average rates and index), or for any delays in updates of SWESTR (including average rates and index).
  • The Riksbank is not responsible for the use of SWESTR (including average rates and index) in financial instruments, agreements, trade or other commercial activities or other business decisions, or for the failure or inability to use SWESTR (including average rates and index) in any of these contexts.

Re-publication of SWESTR and average rates and index based on SWESTR

For actors publishing SWESTR (including average rates and index) through their information systems, trading platforms or websites or in any other manner, the following apply:

  • The Riksbank is not responsible for errors or shortcomings that may arise in connection with the re-publication of SWESTR (including average rates and index).
  • It must be made clear that the Riksbank is the administrator of SWESTR (including average rates and index).
  • It must be made clear that the Riksbank is the source of re-published information about SWESTR (including average rates and indices).
  • The Riksbank’s terms and conditions for use must be clearly stated.
  • SWESTR (including average rates and index) may be used in calculation tools, for example, for the pricing of financial instruments.
  • SWESTR (including average rates and index) may be used as input values for other information provided by the actor, but it must be clear, in such cases, which information was originally published by the Riksbank and which information was processed by the actor. Under no circumstances may the information published after processing be presented in such a way that it can be confused with information provided by the Riksbank.
  • It is not permitted to present a service as an “official cooperation”, “partnership” or similar with the Riksbank.
