The API for interest rates and exchange rates is a REST API that makes it possible to collect the most recently published interest rate and exchange rate values or previous publications for a time period. The REST API is newly developed and was published on 27 November 2023. The API can be used free of charge, but the number of calls that can be made during a period of time from a given IP address is limited. If you need to make more calls, it is also possible to register as a user in the Riksbank’s API portal.
The Riksbank’s old SOAP API for interest rates and exchange rates will close on 27 May 2024
The Riksbank’s old SOAP API for interest rates and exchange rates will close on 27 May 2024. When it closes, the SOAP API will stop working and anyone who has set up an integration with the SOAP API must develop a new integration with the new REST API to continue to be able to automatically retrieve interest rates and exchange rates via API from the Riksbank.
The API portal
Technical documentation for developers, information on published APIs and the possibility of registering users can be found in the Riksbank’s API portal. The portal also contains information on how the Riksbank processes your personal data when using the API.
