Participating in RIX

To participate in RIX, an institution must apply to become a participant. The Riksbank imposes specific requirements that must be met for an institution to be accepted as a participant. In the application, the institution specifies whether it is applying to obtain certification for one of the settlement services RIX-RTGS or RIX-INST or for both services. Certification includes three steps: application, training and tests.

The legal relationship between the Riksbank and the RIX participants is regulated in “Terms and Conditions for RIX and Monetary Policy Instruments” (“Terms and Conditions”). Link to the Conditions and Instructions page

A RIX participant shall pay fees to the Riksbank in accordance with the price-list applied by the Riksbank.
