Infrastructure Council for Payments and Securities

On the Riksbank’s initiative, agents and authorities involved in the infrastructure for payments and securities have formed a Swedish Infrastructure Council for Payments and Securities. Participants in the Council discuss strategic issues, keep each other informed and pursue dialogue about ongoing and future change projects related to the financial infrastructure.

The Infrastructure Council shall act as a common resource for market stakeholders and strive for transparency in its work.  The Riksbank acts as convener and is responsible for the administrative work. Information from Infrastructure Council meetings can be found on this page.

The Infrastructure Council’s organisation

The Infrastructure Council consists of a president, secretariat and members. The President of the Infrastructure Council is one of the Deputy Governors of the Riksbank and the Riksbank is responsible for the secretariat. Persons appointed to the Council shall be senior managers representing banks, FMIs and authorities.

The Infrastructure Council can establish working groups for support its work when it is considered necessary. The Council has established a committee that is responsible for driving the work forward and that reports to the Infrastructure Council via the Council’s secretariat.
