The old API for interest rates and exchange rates has been closed
News The Riksbank has developed a new and more modern API (Application Programming Interface) for interest rates and exchange rates, a REST API, which was launched on 27 November 2023. The Riksbank's old SOAP API has been closed down as of Monday 27 May 2024, and will no longer function. Anyone who wants to be able to automatically retrieve interest rates and exchange rates via the API from the Riksbank must use the new REST API.
How do I set up an integration with the new REST API?
Go to the Riksbank's API portal where there is information and technical documentation for developers. You can find further information on the page FAQ – The API for interest rates and exchange rates.
What do I need to do if I still only have an integration with the old SOAP API?
You need to develop a new integration with the new REST API to continue to automatically retrieve interest rates and exchange rates via the API from the Riksbank. The SOAP API has been closed down and will cease to function as of 27 May 2024.
Why has the Riksbank developed a new REST API?
The Riksbank has modernised and replaced the technical platform for the API for interest rates and exchange rates. The REST API is more modern, easier to use and more future-proof.
