Old API for interest rates and exchange rates will close on 27 May 2024

News The Riksbank has developed a new and more modern REST API (Application Programming Interface) for interest rates and exchange rates, which was launched on 27 November 2023. The Riksbank’s old SOAP API will close on 27 May 2024. When it closes, the SOAP API will stop working and anyone who has set up an integration with the SOAP API must develop a new integration with the new REST API to continue to be able to automatically retrieve interest rates and exchange rates via API from the Riksbank.

Why has the Riksbank developed a new REST API?

The Riksbank has modernised and replaced the technical platform for the API for interest rates and exchange rates. The REST API is more modern, easier to use and more future-proof.

What do I need to do if I currently have an integration with the Riksbank’s old SOAP API?

You need to develop a new integration with the new REST API to continue to automatically retrieve interest rates and exchange rates via the API from the Riksbank. The SOAP API will close and stop working on 27 May 2024.
