Riksbank staff wartime deployment
News In 2015, the Government decided that Sweden should resume its total defence planning. The Riksbank is part of Sweden's total defence and therefore needs to be able to maintain priority operations and ensure appropriate staffing in the event of a period of heightened alert. For this reason, the Riksbank has decided on wartime deployment for all permanent staff.
Since 2018, the Riksbank has been working on analysing how the Riksbank's critically important operations should be conducted under an increased level of preparedness. Wartime deployment is a natural part of this work, and in 2021 plans were initiated for deployment of all permanent staff. The Executive Board decided on wartime deployment for all permanent staff on 9 March and work on this will begin immediately.
