The Riksbank concludes the exchange agreement with the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU)
News In June 2022, the Riksbank signed an agreement with the Ukrainian central bank, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU). The agreement gave Ukrainian refugees the opportunity to turn to FOREX to exchange hryvnia for Swedish kronor. The demand for exchanging hryvnia has declined substantially now and NBU has therefore announced that they wish to cancel the agreements with the Riksbank and other European central banks.
The agreement with the Riksbank will be concluded on 21 December 2022. As of 13 November 2022, it is no longer possible to exchange hryvnia for kronor at FOREX.
