Executive Board meeting, monetary policy meeting no. 1

The Executive Board's interest rate decision will be published, together with the Monetary Policy Report.

The decision on the repo rate will apply from 19 February 2020.

The Riksbank will hold a press conference on the interest rate decision. Stefan Ingves, Governor of the Riksbank, and Jesper Hansson, Head of the Monetary Policy Department, will participate in the press conference.

Press cards or the equivalent must be shown to attend the press conference.

The press conference will be held at the Riksbank, Brunkebergstorg 11.

The press conference will be broadcast live on the website, but can also be watched afterwards.

Governor Stefan Ingves will talk about the economic situation and current monetary policy during a visit to New York.

Deputy Governor Henry Ohlsson will participate in a seminar on developments on the payment market, arranged by Kontantupproret at the Riksdag (the Swedish parliament).

Kerstin af Jochnick, member of the Supervisory Board of ECB Banking Supervision, will come to the Riksbank to talk about the EU-level initiative aimed at strengthening the resilience of the financial sector. She will present the work carried out since the financial crisis and what remains to be done. Johanna Lybeck Lilja, Executive Advisor, Nordea, and Bo Becker, professor of financial economics at the Stockholm School of Economics, will comment and provide their views of the significance of EU cooperation for the Swedish banking sector.

Deputy Governor Henry Ohlsson will discuss the economic situation and current monetary policy at a lunch arranged by STAF (Skandinaviens Tekniska Analytikers Förening).

Governor Stefan Ingves will participate in the municipal parliament of the Swedish People's Party of Finland (SFP) in Uusimaa and Helsinki. He will participate in a discussion on board the ferry Viking Gabriella on the economic conditions and challenges in Sweden and Finland. Susanna Ginman, chief of lead editorials at the newspaper Hufvudstadsbladet, will chair the discussion.
