Sveriges Riksbank is organising an international Symposium to mark the end of Stefan Ingves’ time as governor of Sveriges Riksbank. Senior central bank officials and prominent academics will participate in four panels that address central bank independence from various angles – climate, payments, mandates and global policy coordination.

The Symposium will be held in Stockholm on 10 January, 2023 from 10.30 am to 6 pm. Participation in the Symposium is by invitation only. See programme

The Symposium is open for journalists. To participate, journalist will need to enrol in advance and be able to present their press ID or equivalent. Please enrol via email to susanne.meyer@riksbank.se, no later than 10.00 am on Wednesday 4 January 2023. Participation will not be possible if the registration is not received before that time.

First Deputy Governor Anna Breman will visit the Chamber of Commerce Mälardalen to discuss the economic situation and participate in a panel discussion with representatives from companies in Västmanland.

The Riksbank publishes its Climate Report, which explains why and how the Riksbank works with climate-related risks.

The Riksdag Committee on Finance will hold an open hearing on financial stability in the Swedish economy in the light of high inflation and higher interest rates with the Financial Stability Council. Participants include Governor Erik Thedéen and Minister for Financial Markets Niklas Wykman.

The hearing will be open to the general public and the media in that it will be possible to watch it live or afterwards via the Riksdag’s website.
