Deputy Governor Henry Ohlsson will participate in a seminar to illustrate the importance of cash in today’s Sweden. The seminar has been arranged in conjunction with the recently presented payment market inquiry. At the seminar, various organisations, experts and representatives for political parties will present their opinions on the matter. Lennart Ekdal will moderate.

Conference: Economic Policy Panel

The Riksbank is hosting the Economic Policy Panel conference, which is organized by the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) and the journal Economic Policy. The theme of the conference is geoeconomics and the contributions deal with the economic consequences of conflicts, energy price trends and sanctions. The conference is open for journalists, takes place at the Riksbank and is conducted in English.

Governor Erik Thedéen will open the conference and Deputy Governor Martin Flodén will be moderator for one of the panels. Neither Mr Thedéen nor Mr Flodén will talk about or comment on current monetary policy, because the conference takes place within the ‘silent’ period that precedes every monetary policy decision.

Monetary policy meeting at which the Executive Board takes a decision on monetary policy including the policy rate.

The Executive Board’s monetary policy decision, including the decision on the policy rate, will be published together with the Monetary Policy Report for April 2023.

The decision on the level of the policy rate will apply from 3 May 2023.

Governor Erik Thedéen, First Deputy Governor Anna Breman and Deputy Governor Per Jansson will participate in the Eurofi conference held in Stockholm. Per Jansson will participate in a panel discussion on cross-border payments, Anna Breman will participate in a panel discussion on risks in the banking sector and Erik Thedéen will hold a speech on the economic situation.
