Governor Erik Thedéen will discuss competition and inflation at European Competition Day, which has been arranged in conjunction with the Swedish Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

The event will be live-streamed and can be watched at European Competition Day (europa.eu)

Deputy Governor Martin Flodén will participate in a panel discussion of whether weak competition leads to increased inflation. The panel discussion is part of pros and Cons, an international conference arranged by the Swedish Competition Authority.

Deputy Governor Per Jansson will participate in the breakfast seminar “Laura meets Per Jansson” and discuss the economic situation. The seminar is part of the series “Laura meets”, arranged by STUC (Swedish Trade Union Confederation) and led by chief economist Laura Hartman.

The Executive Board of the Riksbank and three researchers will participate in the Riksdag Committee on Finance’s open hearing on monetary policy 2022. The Committee has commissioned the Center for Monetary Policy and Financial Stability (CeMoF) at Stockholm University to evaluate monetary policy 2022. The researchers’ report Utvärdering av penningpolitiken 2022 [Evaluation of monetary policy 2022] is the first of its kind and will be published on 23 May 2023. This report and the Riksbank publication Monetary Policy Report 2022 will form the basis for questions and discussions during the hearing.

The hearing is open to the public but the number of participants in the visitors’ gallery will be limited. Members of the public and the media can also follow the hearing live on the Riksdag’s website. It will also be possible to watch the hearing afterwards on the Riksdag’s website.
