New committee for the Scandinavian Foreign Exchange Market
News A Scandinavian FX Committee has been established. This Committee will provide a forum bringing together representatives of the Scandinavian central banks and market participants to meet regularly and discuss current issues on the wholesale Foreign Exchange (FX) Market. The founding meeting will be held at the Riksbank on 4 June 2018.
In May 2017, the FX Global Code was launched. The Riksbank certified in November 2017 that we, like many other participants in the foreign exchange market, observe the Global Code's six leading principles: ethics, governance, information sharing, execution, risk management and compliance, and confirmation and settlement processes.
The Riksbank participates in the Global FX Committee responsible for maintaining the Global Code. Within this framework, a Scandinavian FX Committee is now being established to discuss issues concerning the Global Code and to exchange views on the functioning of the Scandinavian FX markets.
The Committee is composed of representatives of Sveriges Riksbank, Norges Bank, Danmarks Nationalbank and private sector representatives with a prominent role in the Scandinavian currencies.
