Increased transparency regarding the Riksbank’s asset purchases
News As of 1 February 2022, on a quarterly basis, the Riksbank will publish more detailed information on the Riksbank’s asset purchases in Swedish kronor. Publication as it now stands will be expanded with transaction lists for all types of securities as well as more detailed lists of holdings for individual municipal bonds, corporate bonds and commercial paper.
The Riksbank is working to increase transparency in the corporate bond market and striving for the greatest transparency possible with regard to its own purchases of corporate bonds. In addition to publishing a transaction list for corporate bonds, we are further increasing transparency by publishing more detailed information about other asset purchases.
What is new in the publication of asset purchases?
- Transaction lists for all asset purchases: government bonds, treasury bills, covered bonds (mortgage bonds), municipal bonds, corporate bonds and commercial paper*
- Lists of the Riksbank’s securities-level holdings of individual municipal bonds, corporate bonds and commercial paper*
When will this new publication take place?
Publication will take place on a quarterly basis on the Riksbank’s website, with a one-month delay. The first publication with the new information will take place on 1 February 2022, with statistics for the period since purchases began until the end of December 2021.
*) The Riksbank’s purchases of commercial paper were completed on 31 December 2021 and the lists will therefore not be updated after the first publication.
