New Deputy Governor Aino Bunge starts today

News In September, the General Council of the Riksbank appointed Aino Bunge as a new Member of the Executive Board for a term of office of 6 years, with effect from 1 December. “It is a challenging, but also exciting time to be given this assignment. I see it as a privilege to work in such a competent organisation as the Riksbank and with my colleagues on the Executive Board,” says Aino Bunge, Deputy Governor.

Aino Bunge comes most recently from AMF Occupational pensions and the post of Vice President and Head of Staff, and has previously worked at Finansinspektionen (the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority) and the Swedish Ministry of Finance. Aino has a broad experience of working with different parts of the financial system and links to the real economy and regulation, both nationally and internationally.

- I look forward, together with the rest of the organisation, to conducting a monetary policy that will bring inflation back to the target now, says Aino Bunge, who will attend her first monetary policy meeting in February 2023.

- It will also be very interesting to look ahead and see how the Riksbank's role can and should develop. This is particularly true in an increasingly digitalised society, where our financial system and payments change accordingly.
