New Sveriges Riksbank Act adopted by Riksdag

With the new Sveriges Riksbank Act, the Riksbank’s main tasks remain intact, that is to achieve low and stable inflation and contribute to a stable and efficient financial system. The new Act also extends the Riksbank’s mandate as regards responsibility for cash management and crisis preparedness, as well as strengthens the Riksbank’s accountability. Work is under way to ensure that processes and procedures are ready by the end of the year when the new Sveriges Riksbank Act enters into force.
