Riksbank offers first USD loan on Thursday, 26 March

The Riksbank decided on 19 March to offer the banks loans in USD against collateral. The first auction of USD 10 billion with a maturity of 3 months will be held on Thursday, 26 March, starting at 1400 hours. The framework amount is USD 60 billion for the period up to and including 18 September 2020.

This first auction is being coordinated so that Sveriges Riksbank, Danmarks Nationalbank and Norges Bank hold auctions at the same time.

The dollar loans are one of the measures the Riksbank is offering to the banks to alleviate the negative effects on the real economy of the coronavirus pandemic.
