Anna Seim new Deputy Governor

Press release The General Council of the Riksbank decided today to appoint Anna Seim new member of the Executive Board of the Riksbank. Anna Seim succeeds Martin Flodén, whose term of office expires on 21 May 2024.

Anna Seim is currently Professor of Economics and acting director at the Department of Economics at Stockholm University. Her research focuses on, for instance, the effects of the inflation target on wage formation and other macroeconomic outcomes.

“We are very pleased to be able to present a new highly qualified person as member of the Executive Board. Anna Seim has a solid academic background and in-depth insight into how central banks affect the economy. She will be a good complement to the other members of the Executive Board, and we are also very pleased that our decision was unanimous,” say Bo Broman, Chair of the General Council, and Tomas Eneroth, Vice Chair in a joint comment.

Anna Seim has been appointed for a term of office of six years, with effect from 22 May 2024. Her first monetary policy meeting will be the one held on 26 June.

The Executive Board of the Riksbank consists of five members, who are appointed for a term of office of five or six years. The other members of the Board are Governor Erik Thedéen, First Deputy Governor Anna Breman and Deputy Governors Aino Bunge and Per Jansson.

A press conferences with the Chair of the General Council Bo Broman, Vice Chair Tomas Eneroth, and Anna Seim will be held today at 15.30 at the Riksbank, Brunkebergstorg 11.
