Governor Erik Thedéen holds a speech focusing on the development of private consumption – why has it been weak and what is the Riksbank’s view of growth going forward?

The Executive Board’s monetary policy decision, including the decision on the policy rate, will be published together with the Monetary Policy Update for January 2026.

The decision on the level of the policy rate will apply from 4 February 2026. 

The Riksbank is arranging a press conference on the monetary policy decision. The press conference will take place at the Riksbank, Brunkebergstorg 11. Press cards or the equivalent must be shown to attend. The press conference will be broadcast live at riksbank.se and on Youtube.
