Anders Gånge appointed acting head of the Markets Department

News The Executive Board of the Riksbank has appointed Anders Gånge as acting head of the Markets Department, replacing Heidi Elmér, who is leaving the Riksbank to take up a new position as CEO of PP Pension. Anders Gånge currently works as deputy head of the Markets Department. He will take up his new position on 9 July.

Anders Gånge has worked as deputy head of the Markets Department since 2017. Prior to that, he worked at Kommuninvest as treasury manager and borrowing manager, and before that he spent many years as an interest rate and derivatives trader at various banks.

“Anders Gånge has a solid knowledge of financial markets and how they work. During his eight years as deputy head of department, he has demonstrated high quality and good delivery capabilities. My colleagues on the Executive Board and I look forward to continuing to work with Anders in his new role as acting head of department,” says Riksbank Governor Erik Thedéen.

Heidi Elmér has been head of the Markets Department since 2014.

“It has been a great privilege to work with Heidi. She is very knowledgeable and competent in her field. My colleagues in the Executive Board and I would like to express our sincere thanks to Heidi for her valuable contributions. We wish her every success in her new role,” says Governor Erik Thedéen.

Recruitment of a permanent head of department for the Markets Department will begin after the summer.
