Stefan Ingves to become Toronto Centre chair

News Governor of the Riksbank Stefan Ingves has been appointed chair of Toronto Centre, an organisation that promotes financial stability in emerging markets and low-income countries.

Toronto Centre was founded in 1998 and provides training to supervisory authorities and central banks in emerging markets and low-income countries. The organisation also strives to ensure that women, girls and the world’s poor also have access to financial services.

“For 20 years, Toronto Centre has worked hard to become the world’s foremost organisation when it comes to helping developing countries to improve their supervisory skills. I feel honoured to have been appointed chair of this organisation,” says Stefan Ingves.

Toronto Centre receives financial support from organisations such as the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), the Canadian Government and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
