Ingves and Jansson to participate in IMF spring meeting

News On 21-23 April, the spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank will take place in Washington D.C. The Swedish delegation will include Governor of the Riksbank Stefan Ingves, Deputy Governor Per Jansson, Finance Minister Magdalena Andersson and Minister for International Development Cooperation Isabella Lövin.

On 22 April, the International Monetary and Financial Committee (IMFC) will meet in connection with the spring meeting. As usual, the discussions at the IMFC meeting will cover the global economy and how countries are jointly addressing the current global financial situation.

What is the IMFC?

The International Monetary and Financial Committee (IMFC) is the IMF's policymaking forum. The Committee meets twice a year, once in the spring and once in the autumn in connection with the IMF's annual meeting, to discuss developments in the global economy and other issues relating to IMF activities. The IMFC consists of 24 members represented by a central bank governor or a finance minister from each country or constituency in the IMF. Sweden is part of a constituency together with Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania and Norway. This year our constituency is represented on the IMFC by the Danish Finance Minister, Kristian Jensen.
