Proposed new Sveriges Riksbank Act
News The Riksbank Committee has submitted its final report “En ny riksbankslag” (A new Sveriges Riksbank Act) to Minister for Financial Markets Per Bolund. The Committee was instructed to conduct a review of the monetary policy framework and the Sveriges Riksbank Act.
In the role of expert adviser to the inquiry, Head of the Riksbank’s General Secretariat Anders Vredin has submitted a separate statement of opinion on the proposed new Sveriges Riksbank Act. Head of Payments Department Christina Wejshammar has likewise submitted a separate statement of opinion in the role of expert adviser to the Committee.
The proposed new Sveriges Riksbank Act is now being referred to consultation and the referral bodies concerned, including the Riksbank, have until 16 April 2020 to respond to the consultation paper.
