Pernilla Meyersson appointed acting Head of General Secretariat – Anders Vredin becomes new senior advisor

News The Executive Board of the Riksbank has decided to appoint Pernilla Meyersson as acting Head of General Secretariat after Anders Vredin, who will serve as senior advisor to the Executive Board with a position in the Monetary Policy Department. Pernilla Meyersson will take up the post of acting head on 1 June.

- Pernilla Meyersson has long and solid experience from the central banking world and has been acting Head of the General Secretariat on several occasions in recent years. She has worked at the Riksbank since 1996 and has held several management positions and has previously also been Deputy Executive Director of the Nordic-Baltic constituency office at the International Monetary Fund (IMF). I and my colleagues on the Executive Board look forward to continuing to work with Pernilla in her new role as acting Head of the General Secretariat, says Governor Stefan Ingves.

Anders Vredin has been Head of the General Secretariat for more than 10 years and in this role has been ultimately responsible for several of the Riksbank's most important coordination and support processes. This includes both coordination and follow-up of the Bank's operational planning and support and control of risk and business continuity issues, as well as overall coordination of the Riksbank's operations and interdepartmental development projects, such as the development of an e-krona pilot. In addition, Mr Vredin has participated as an expert in several external investigations most recently in the Riksbank inquiry, which submitted proposals for a new Sveriges Riksbank Act.

- Anders Vredin has been a central, driving and cohesive force within the Riksbank's many areas of activity and has contributed with his wisdom and long experience to the development of the Riksbank's work in many different areas. His broad and long experience from the world of central banking has been an asset, not least in the Riksbank inquiry. We are therefore pleased that Anders will remain at the Riksbank but now as senior advisor to the Executive Board, says Riksbank Governor Stefan Ingves.
